Sport is a New Zealand literary magazine, concentrating on fiction, poetry and personal essays. Unpublished writers appear alongside the biggest names in New Zealand literature. Sport was founded in 1988 by Fergus Barrowman, who is still the editor and publisher, and was quickly recognised as "currently the leading magazine for poetry and fiction" (Oxford History of New Zealand Literature). It was published twice-yearly until 2003, and is now published annually in May.
