The Orchardist is a highly regarded monthly magazine, well known both in New Zealand and in other countries with major fruit growing industries. Content is aimed primarily at commercial fruit growers, but is also of interest to post harvest operators, horticultural suppliers, produce marketers and research organizations. The magazine emphasises information of immediate use to growers, such as scientific and technical articles. Scientists and technical staff of the Crown-owned research institute HortResearch are regular contributors. It also publishes information on marketing and export developments, news of the various fruit industries, political and legislative developments and profiles of growers and fruit growing regions.
